I distinctly remember that time I meticulously planned a daring train heist for my friends, complete with disguises, combat, puzzles and a detailed final grand moment where the train would split in two as the carriages were separated and the party zoomed off into the sunset successfully scragging the stash. They promptly brought me back to reality as they got side-tracked by an NPC robot butler named Trevon who by no fault of his own laid on a night of drinks, gambling and frivolity in the trains hospitality carriage.

Trevon then became an incredibly significant character to our story becoming a symbol of the groups love for moments in-between our campaign where their characters would exist in each others company, find magic in the mundane and create memories when they weren’t slaying dragons, taking on the forces of evil and crawling through dungeons solving mysterious puzzles.

Starting Game Masters Guild feels a bit like that. I’ve spent countless hours planning, strategizing, and building this business. I’ve envisioned grand narratives, ambitious goals, and a clear path to success. But deep down, I know that the real magic will happen when I let go of the reins a little, embrace the unexpected, and allow the players (in this case, our clients) to shape the story.

Just like those late-night campfire conversations where we dreamed of becoming adventurers ourselves, this journey is about more than just achieving a destination. It's about fostering creativity, building connections, and creating unforgettable experiences. It's about allowing the magic to take hold of the steering wheel and see where it leads us.

So here's to new adventures, unexpected detours, and the joy of sharing the magic of tabletop role-playing with the world. Not sure how many people will read this or whether there is any sort of lesson/advice to be given here but in the spirit of dice rolling… Let the games begin!
